Hi Seven here!! I would have to agree and sympathize with spaghetti on all accounts here ...there are certainly down sides to being as busy as I am so yes I am taking appointments now for 2012 ...I really wish that i could do everyone's pieces but I know that I am an extremly specialized tattoo artist. I care about all the the little details which can add immense time to a piece thus my tattoos are certainly priced in a way where I try to keep the cost down for the very intricate large scale pieces I do (most with little/no reliance on outlines to hold the image together ) but the nature of these pieces are completely in a different category for the technical procedures needed and that is where budget cant be limiting to the end results I am able to produce when suited to an Ideal client. My studio is also unique to Edmonton, It is a loft dedicated 100% to tattooing (no I DO NOT tattoo out of my house, which is a common rumor I hear) It is very clean and comfortable, regularly visited by Capital Health, and all my clients love the privacy, and knowing that its just them and me all day. My studio is 100% disposables so there is no potential for toxins from ultrasonics, or contaminated scrubbing rooms. (all shops who have maintained sterilization rooms where they scrub and reuse equipment(excluding needles) are perfectly safe)
I very much care that our Edmonton tattoo clientele are suited with the best artist for what they want achieved and as such I am constantly referring people to other artists. i would say a good analogy is in my yoga practice... I am a lover of Moksha Yoga ..I do it regularly ..I brought a friend who is VERY muscular and "fit" he was dying at the end of the class, while I was not...He also can lift the whole stack of weights easily on my home gym, many times, where I could not even do it once...the point here is training...I am trained by repetition to do very precise controlled art on skin and could not possibly work as fast as many of the other artists here in the city...its not a better/worse thing its a "go to the appropriate person" thing I make it very clear what to expect from me when I interview my clients, not because I am a snob but because I am dedicated to a particular path with a particular soil in which I can only grow particular flowers along the way..very exotic ones....I am very sorry to all those who feel rejected by my process..I often wish there was more of me to go around...a client once told me "slow down, your Seven, not Seven Eleven...you cant be open 24 hours a day" still I often work 6 days a week to please... yet...it saddens me to know people still cant just be happy that I am here and that I aim only to do what I am capable of...but no one can please everyone....
